This is what RIPCOR believes. From humble beginnings RIPCOR began in little known Bayard, New Mexico a rural community of a few hundred. Utilizing simple, catchy but crushing songs the bands live shows surge with energy.
The Band formed in 2002 with original members Bob and Kenny. Several line up changes later the band sought out a vocalist and bassist to round out the line up. Samhain was asked to try out and after just one night of jamming instant classics like “Road to Hell” it was clear that the bassist spot was filled. Next, Josh saw the band perform at a local talent show with the original singer. Josh had previously performed with Bob in a band called Blind Obedience so the two were well acquainted. Once the original singer decided to strike out on his own Josh stepped in and took the band to add new heights with his emotional singing style.
Lyrically, Josh and Kenny address everything from suicide to hypocrisy, to dealing with inner demons. It is clear that the writers derive a sort of therapy from their passionate musings.
The self-titled debut CD was recorded after the band was together just slightly over one year. The band financed it’s own demo and chose the legendary Saltmine Studios in Mesa, Arizona. The recording credits go to well known engineer John Gray. The debut demo exudes an emotional and energetic vibe that demands to be heard.
The bands dedication to their craft is easy to see especially with the release of passion and emotion during songwriting and live performances. RIPCOR hopes to one day tour full time and bring their band of metal to the masses. They will not be satisfied until they have left their indelible stamp on the music world.
